Hello,
My name is Becky Siembak and the 2019-2020 school year will be my 16th year of my teaching career. Before arriving at Trinity Middle School, I taught at Burgettstown Middle/High School for three years. I currently teach a special education reading class titled Language! This will be my seventh year teaching the program and I have seen many positive gains in my students' reading ability.
I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in December of 2003. At CalU, I was the team captain of the Women's Basketball Team. During the 2003-2004, season we won the Division II National Championship! I received numerous individual accolades including being named the Division II National Player of the year in 2003, but winning the National Championship is something few people can say they achieved. I will always be grateful for the opportunities CalU provided me.
In the fall of 2007, I was hired at Trinity to be an inclusion science teacher and special education English teacher. I've had many different teaching responsibilities at TMS over the years. However, for the past seven years I have had the pleasure of teaching the Language! curriculum to IEP students who struggle with reading. Over this time period, I have witnessed numerous students improve their reading level! I truly believe in the program and what it does to help struggling students read.
Additionally, I earned my Masters Degree in Special Education Supervision in the winter of 2012 from Slippery Rock University. I take pride in the fact that I graduated with a 4.0 GPA! Working with special education students is truly my passion. I believe that all students can learn and all students deserve a chance.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter Harper and my son Hudson. Our family enjoys swimming, taking walks, going shopping, and playing outside.
