Welcome to English 8 and Honors English 8!

 

The purpose of this website is to provide students and parents with the information and resources necessary to succeed in English 8 and Honors English 8.  Please take a few moments to browse this website, and please check it frequently during the school year.  You will find lesson plans, downloadable class resources, and information concerning our various units of study.

About Ms. Cortese

 

I am a 1999 graduate of Chartiers-Houston Jr./Sr. High School.  I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Allegheny College in 2003 and my teaching certification from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005.  I have been teaching English at Trinity Middle School since 2005.

I currently reside in Washington County with my two young sons, Samuel and Elijah.  In addition to teaching, I also enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time outdoors.  Some of my favorite books are Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.  

I honestly love reading, writing, teaching, and learning, and one of my primary goals is to help my students feel the same way.
