Welcome! My name is Jessica Wachter, and I am the Reading Specialist at Trinity East Elementary School. I graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 2000 and received my Master of Education with a Reading Specialist certification from Loyola College in Maryland in 2006.
This is my eleventh year with Trinity Area School District, but I have previous teaching experience with Harford County Public Schools in Maryland where I taught both 4th and 2nd grades. I have worked as a Literacy Coach and Reading and Math Support Teacher during my time at Trinity and love working with students in the small group intervention setting in my current position!
My role is to guide students in learning the skills and strategies needed to become successful readers. I support and parallel classroom instruction through the use of guided reading. The Leveled Literacy Intervention program is the curriculum I use to provide intense instruction for students. Each lesson includes strategies for rereading, word work, comprehension, fluency, and writing.
On my website, you will find information on curriculum, classroom resources and ideas, and helpful links. If you need anything, please contact me at 724-225-8140 ext. 4509 or jwachter@trinityhillers.net.
Thank you for visiting my site, and hopefully you can find something you can use!
Happy Reading,
Mrs. Wachter
