Welcome! My name is Linda Oros, and I am a Title I reading teacher at Trinity North Elementary. I am a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh and California University with a Master's Degree in Reading. This is my twenty-third year of teaching Reading. I am married to Bruce, and we have two daughters, Natalie and Carlie. We also have two cats, Zoey and Aryia,
I provide extra support in reading for those students who qualify. In kindergarten, I meet with the children five days a week in small groups for the first semester. We work on various areas of reading, while working closely with the classroom teacher. During the second semester, I implement a program called LLI (Leveled Literacy Intervention), if the students are ready. Here the students will have thirty minutes of intensive reading lessons in which they will read, write or learn about phonics.
In first grade, I meet with the students five days a week for small group instruction using the LLI Program. The students have forty minute lessons in which they read, write, or learn about phonics. These intensive LLI lessons are given in addition to the regular reading instruction your child receives in the classroom. In both grade levels, my main goal is to have the children love reading!
I hope you utilize this website to be informed about what is happening in the areas of kindergarten and first grade reading. I am looking forward to another great year at Trinity North Elementary. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at North (724) 222-5064 ext. 2118, during my prep at 2:35 p.m., or email me at loros@trinityhillers.net. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great year at Trinity North!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Linda Oros
