I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Special Education, and endorsements in Reading and Autism from Bethany College in Bethany WV, graduating summa cum laude in 2011. I also earned my Masters Degree in Special Education at Point Park University in August 2017.
I worked for the Mt. Lebanon School District, for two and a half years. My teaching roles included both permanent and long-term substitute positions at Washington Elementary School and Foster Elementary School. I was a long-term substitute in 1st grade for the first half of the 2013-2014 school year. Most of my teaching experience, however, has been with students in the Learning Support and Life Skills/Autistic Support programs.
During the second half of the 2013-2014 school year, I was afforded the opportunity work as an ACCESS teacher at Osborne Elementary School in the Quaker Valley School District where I worked with 4th and 5th grade students in a regular classroom setting as well as in individualized small-group settings.
In addition to my experience as a teacher with regular and special education students in the school setting, I worked with gifted children as a teacher for Carnegie Mellon University’s C-MITES program for three years. I taught various weekend classes during the school year and two-week long courses during the summer months.
I am very excited to begin my 6th year teaching at Trinity West. I look forward to getting to know my new students and families in addition to continuing to work with the families and students I have worked with in the past. Let’s have a fantastic school year!
