Welcome to the web page of Mrs. McCarthy, Social Studies teacher at the high school.
My current area of teaching is Psychology, both Advanced Placement and general Psychology classes. These are elective courses that can help satisfy the students requirement of 4 Social Studies credits for graduation.
I received my Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History from Seton Hill University in 2010 and earned my 7-12 Social Studies teaching certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. I returned to Seton Hill where I completed my Master’s Degree in Special Education with a Specialization in Autism in 2013. While completing my undergraduate and graduate studies at Seton Hill University, I was also a member and captain of the women’s basketball team. My athletic career taught me the importance of teamwork, dedication, and hard work, qualities that are important to me while teaching students.
This is my seventh year teaching and I am looking forward to my second year as a Hiller! During the school year I will be immersed in your child’s learning. It is my aim while I am here to assist your child in reaching their full academic potential in the classroom. Please do not hesitate in approaching me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the school year.
