Description:

During the first nine weeks students will review classroom rules, map skills, land forms, the land bridge theory, ancient civilizations, and Native Americans. We use interactive notebooks and learn to take notes from nonfiction passages. 

In the second nine weeks we delve into Early Explorers and the 13 Colonies and Colonial America, Students will complete a project based assessment to show what they have learned about the explorers.

During the third nine weeks we learn about the American Revolution and the Constitution. Students love this part of the year! History comes alive for them during videos about this time period.

Finally during the fourth nine weeks we learn about the West Ward Expansion.

Students will be required to read Diary of Remember Patience Whipple, Sign of the Beaver, Woods Runner, Secret Soldier and Lewis and Clark.
