Reading Websites for Practice at Home



  • Washington County Federal Program Coordinators Website:  Ideas for how to help your students at home.  Resources for reading, math, STEAM and more.  (Grades K-5)




  • PBS Kids Website:  Play hundreds of interactive learning games featuring favorite PBS show characters like Curious George, Arthur, and our friends from Sesame Street.  (Grades K-3)  


  • Starfall:  A free website to teach children to read with phonics.  The site has four sections with exciting phonics games and online interactive books.  (Grades K-2)


  • Seussville:  A Dr. Seuss themed site with games and activities for the kids and resources for parents as well.  (Grades K-5)



  • Book Pals – Storyline:  Your child can listen to favorite literature selections read aloud by various celebrities like Betty White!  (Great for all ages!)


  • Build Your Wild Self:  Create a “wild” version on yourself, complete with elephant ears, an alligator snout, and lots of other crazy animal parts!  When you’re finished, you can read about how each part helps the animals survive.  (All Grades)
