Who is Mrs. Santoro?

Welcome back to another new and exciting school year!  My name is Melissa Santoro and this is my 16th year as the speech-language pathologist at Trinity East Elementary.  I am also the mother of three daughters: Bella (16), Giana (14) and Mia (13).  I live in Canonsburg with my husband, daughters and two dogs, Loki and Freya.

I received my Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2004.  I received my Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh in May 1999.  I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Pennsylvania State License in Speech-Language Pathology.

I will be providing speech and language support services to students.  I will be working on communication goals for those students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).  My goal is to help students find their unique voices as they use their speech and language skills to think, learn, affirm their ideas, and develop social relationships.  I plan to work collaboratively with and provide resources for administrators, teachers, parents, and special educators in their efforts to develop goals and instructional strategies that support academic achievement.  I believe in a ‘team approach’ when providing speech and language support services to students.  You, the parent, are an important part of this team as your child acquires new speech and language skills.

If you have questions and/or concerns regarding your child’s speech and language skills-please contact me at 724-225-8140 ext. 4115 or at msantoro@trinityhillers.net

Thank you so very much and I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!
